Auguste Clown Makeup Application Guidelines

Before applying clown makeup for any of the three clown types and for either wet or dry method, prep you face by washing it with soap and water to remove all facial oil. Use an astringent if needed.

Auguste – Wet Method

1. Apply clown white around eye and muzzle area using your fingertips, sponge or makeup compress or use a white liner pencil to draw your eye and mouth design guidelines. Next apply your white to the inside of your guidelines.

2. To smooth out the makeup and give it a soft velvet look, pat it with your fingertips or compress.

3. Using a Q-tip, design your mouth and eyes and wipe off excess white (this step is not necessary if you draw white guidelines).

4. Using a brush, Q-tip, or fingertips, apply an Auguste flesh tone and mouth color to cover the rest of your face and come as close as possible to the white areas that will be outlined and buffing up to the areas that will not be outlined.

5. Pat color with fingertip being careful not to touch another color.

6. Apply black outline around mouth and eye design with grease pencil or brush and makeup cup. Clean your pencil or brush frequently to prevent colors from running together. Powdering Before outlining is recommended. Your personal preference in appearance will dictate how much you outline.

7. Powder your makeup. Pat in the powder and remove excess powder with a brush.

8. To Remove powder film on your face and bring your colors to life, pat makeup with a damp towel or sponge.

9. You can now add dry rouge to accent or highlight your cheeks or mouth.

I’m just learning, beginning as hospital clown. Name Barbles, outfit self made marble pattern. Any suggestions?

There’s no ideas for the eye shadow. Does one remove the white foundation or use the eye shadow over the white?
